For me fitness and sport have always been a number one passion of mine since I can remember. In 1985 I joined a gym, the owner soon noticed my enthusiasm and asked me if I'd like to compete in a few body building competitions. I became a member of NABBA (National Amateur Body Building Association) and soon developed a serious interest in weight training and nutrition and went on to get 3rd in the Harrogate Miss Figure and 2nd in Miss York of that year.
In 2004 my passion and love for sport led me to a change in career and ultimately into the world of personal training. I left my career in retail management to qualify as a personal trainer with YMCA...Fitness in the North.
Village Fitness started in 2008 and since then the business has gone from strength to strength, with lots of support from clients and recommendations from local physiotherapists. I take a holistic approach to fitness, helping clients through exercise, nutrition and lifestyle advice to reach their potential. I teach ten classes a week in various venues in and around Boroughbridge and Boston Spa and also offer personal training and life coaching by appointment.
At Village Fitness our mission is to encourage men and women of all abilities and levels of fitness to join our friendly and flexible classes around the village locations of Boroughbridge and Boston Spa, North Yorkshire.
As a qualified instructor I take into account the physical and mental well-being of all my clients, whether it be in a class, a one to one personal training or coaching session. Village Fitness is inclusive and beneficial to all who wish to join us!
I am lucky to have a job I love but when I am not working, I like to spend my spare time with my son, family, close friends and pets and time permitting enjoy my hobbies; walking, swimming, wall climbing and studying.
